Heat-pump incentives in 2026: what is still available in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels?

Belgium has three different regional systems and the rules change regularly. This is the situation checked on 16 August 2026.

Last checked: 16 August 2026. Incentives can change quickly, so always verify official conditions before ordering equipment and before work starts.

Why is it complicated?

Housing and energy support are largely regional competences. Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels therefore use different amounts, procedures and eligibility rules.

Flanders: Mijn VerbouwPremie

Since 1 March 2026, for income categories 1 and 2 and several other applicant types, base grants include €1,500 for air-to-water, €4,000 for geothermal, €300 for air-to-air and €800 for hybrid heat pumps.

Income categories 3 and 4 can qualify for more: up to €4,500 or €6,000 for air-to-water, subject to invoice-related limits.

Official Flemish conditions

Wallonia

The temporary Primes Habitation 2025–2026 scheme provides a base amount of €600 per appliance for a heating or combined heat pump. The final amount then depends on factors including income category and applicable caps.

Official Walloon conditions

Brussels

The Brussels-Capital Region currently says that no government decision has yet been made on possible RENOLUTION grants for final invoices in 2025 and/or 2026, so corresponding applications cannot currently be submitted.

The ECORENO loan remains a financing option for certain renovation works.

Do not let a grant dictate the engineering

A heat pump will remain in service for many years. Heat loss, water temperature, noise and installation quality therefore matter more than a one-off subsidy.
