Cookie policy

Space-heat currently uses only cookies and local browser storage required for the website, accounts, cart, checkout, appointments and heat-pump guide to function. We currently do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or other analytics or marketing tracking.
Because no optional analytics or marketing tracking is currently used, we do not display a consent banner. If we activate such technologies in the future, this policy will be updated and prior consent will be requested where legally required.

1. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small data files stored through your browser. LocalStorage is a similar browser feature that stores information directly on your device.

Space-heat uses both only for functional purposes directly connected with features you choose to use.
2. Functional cookies

spaceheat_admin_session

Secure account and administration session.

Retention: Maximum 7 days.

HTTP cookie, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure in production.

spaceheat_verified_email

Temporarily records that an email address has been successfully verified on the website, for example for checkout, contact or account registration.

Retention: Browser session. The associated server-side verification session remains valid for a maximum of 24 hours.

3. Functional local browser storage

shop_cart

Stores the contents of your shopping cart.

Retention: Until the cart is cleared, an order is completed or browser storage is deleted.

shop_service_postal_code

Stores the postal code used for service area, availability and travel calculations.

Retention: Until replaced, removed by certain checkout flows or manually deleted.

shop_service_request_notes

Temporarily stores information about the selected service or appointment.

Retention: Removed after certain completed payment flows or retained until replaced or manually deleted.

shop_cart_flash_message

Temporary one-time cart notification.

Retention: Automatically removed after being read.

shop_checkout_form_draft

Temporarily stores checkout form data so it is not lost when the page reloads.

Retention: Removed after a completed payment or retained until replaced or manually deleted.

shop_cart_pending_draft_save

Helps resume saving a draft order after login.

Retention: Temporary and removed once the resume flow has completed or is no longer valid.

spaceheat_wizard_answers

Stores heat-pump guide answers and progress so you can continue later.

Retention: Until the guide is restarted, the information is overwritten or browser storage is cleared.

spaceheat_pending_wizard_result

Temporarily identifies the wizard result that should be linked to an account after login.

Retention: Removed after the linking process completes or is abandoned.

spaceheat_account_return_to

Temporarily remembers which page to return to after login.

Retention: Only for the relevant login or resume flow.
4. No analytics or marketing tracking

We currently do not use analytics cookies, Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tags, Meta Pixel or similar marketing tracking technologies.

If this changes, optional trackers will only be activated after valid consent has been obtained where required by law.
5. Removing stored data

You can clear local storage through your browser’s privacy or site-data settings. Doing so may remove your cart, postal code, checkout draft or saved guide progress.

Logging out removes the active session cookie. Other functional information may remain on your device until it is removed by the website or by you.
6. Changes

We will update this policy if we add new cookies, local storage, analytics or marketing technologies.
